Developers have said that the Wii U console could have up to 50% more processing power than the PS3 and Xbox 360.
It is rumoured that the Wii U will comprise of a monster multi-core processor and bespoke AMD Radeon HD graphics cards. The Wii U has a 1080p capability to match Xbox 360 and PS3.
Nintendo is inclined to only provide 150,000 units of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D at launch, the Sinobi blog has reported.
Sinobi commented that preorder sales have risen sharply since rumours of limited stock began to circulate. At present it is unclear whether Nintendo will increase stock levels to satisfy current demand. It is likely that there may be shortages if stock remains at current levels.
Attending an investor call Masaru Kato, Sony’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, announced a “future platform” is in the works. Well, this is one way to liven up a dull call while keeping investors happy.
